Tonic - Restaurant - Bar - Deli

Tonic's arrival in the Chapel Quarter, on the west side of the city centre, adds to the growing collection of award-winning restaurants and bars targeting the more discerning customer.

From early morning fair-trade coffee, to an informal bar meal or drink, or full A La Carte, Tonic is uniquely equipped to cater for the discerning customer whatever the occasion or budget. The common thread is fresh food, cooked to order with the emphasis on natural flavours and colours.

Service is attentive and friendly, and the surroundings are comfortable and cool.

Restaurant
The first floor restaurant is framed by theatre … from the exclusive cocktail bar and cinematic art installation, to dramatic booth seating and the open plan kitchen which provides a window into the art and theatre of our modern take on world cuisine.

With a strong emphasis on comfort, Tonic eschews the standard restaurant preference for space-efficient seats without arms in favour of bespoke swivel armchairs – perfect for a long evening of great food and wine! The very epitome of this approach is the circular, leather booth seating, which are semi-enclosed by chocolate glass fins – already these are booked weeks in advance!

The menu is changed on a regular basis to incorporate the very best fresh seasonal produce, and is best described as Modern British with influences from around the world. ‘Honest pricing’ means that customers don’t need to wait for a special occasion to visit, although Tonic certainly has a special feel. The service is friendly, attentive and professional.
